Calm amidst chaos….

On a windy & dusty Sunday, I made a trip to a place I had planned to visit since 2013. In spite of being only about 30 kms or so away from where I live, and inspite of passing by the place quite a number of times, I simply could not manage a trip to this place. I guess, things happen only when they are meant to be. And so, one Sunday, I finally stepped inside the Assam Buddha Vihar, a Buddhist monastery perched on a hilltop in Amingaon, Kamrup, Assam.

Is it February already? Where did January go? I am so caught up in things and work and I don’t know what that the first month of the year just flew by and I could not even write a post to welcome the year……sigh! But as I always say, better late than never! 🙂

The past weekend was kind of a let’s-celebrate-womanhood for me. Today, many people understand feminism as feminazi and I would like to make it clear here that I am all for the former only. Let’s make it clearer with their definitions –

Feminism (noun): the advocacy of women’s rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes. (Source)

Feminazi (noun): a term used pejoratively to describe either feminist who are perceived as extreme or radical, women who are perceived as seeking superiority over men, rather than equality(Source)

Kindness has ripple effects. When someone is kind to us, we feel motivated to do the same for someone else. And if we listen to our heart and do so, before getting back to our busy lives with hardly any time for anything, we experience a happiness that warms our souls.

Participating in this challenge has made me more aware and witness the kind gestures my fellow human beings show all around me. And at the end of the day, I realise that kindness is, after all, a choice that we make & a matter of the heart; whether we want to be kind or not reflects the person we are.  Sadly, even when kindness is free, within our control and makes us feel great too, but even then some of us cannot be kind enough.
