If we were having coffee…

❤ I would tell you how fast everything around me is moving, especially these last few days of 2016. I have so many things to do and so little time. My laziness, especially while getting up in the morning, is adding to the woes :/ (more…)

In several of my posts earlier, I have shared about my tiny steps into the world of gardening. And if I have to name one person who motivates me to do so, it’s my Deuta (that’s what we call our father in Assamese). He loves (more…)

The glory of gardening – hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed – not just the body, but the soul! ~ Alfred Austin

As I have already shared in my previous posts over the years – Part I, Part II & Part III and one more post, I have slowly and steadily treaded into the world of gardening with my potted plants in the balcony. At present, I have a balcony full of pots with varied plants including a veggie patch too. 🙂 (more…)

Welcome to another episode of Photo Friday! [The previous ones can be found here – 1, 2 & 3]

These cheerful yellow lilies are currently the sunshine of my balcony garden, making me smile every morning. 🙂 Today I also have a poem that I think goes with my photo of the week – (more…)

Rooted in Joy (Part III)

I have already shared in Part I & Part II  about the lil’ garden I am nurturing in the balcony of my apartment. Last November, I was in a shop to buy some flower pots. In the counter, I saw some neatly arranged packets of various types of vegetable seeds. And almost instantly, I got the idea to do a vegetable patch, but in a flower pot. I went ahead and brought three varieties of seeds – coriander, spinach & French beans. (more…)

Way back in December, 2012, I had shared in Part I (link here) that I have taken up gardening as a hobby, in my own little way. Living in an apartment, I do not have the luxury of a proper veggie patch/ flower bed. But I do have the liberty to grow some plants in pots. Over the last 2 years, I have added a pot or two and now have quite a few pots in my balcony. 🙂 And to my utter delight, I am quite proud of myself for the very fact that I have managed to keep them alive. The fact that all of these plants are very low maintenance plants is also a contributing factor, without any doubt. 😉 (more…)

Photo Friday (1) – Bliss

I love taking pictures of things around me which catch my attention. And for this I generally use my phone camera since it is always with me and is hassle free too. The picture quality might not be perfect but they do capture what I want to, so in the end I am happy. 🙂 In order to keep these pictures in a proper place for posterity, I have decided to do a weekly feature in my blog – PHOTO FRIDAY, where every Friday I will try to post my picture of the week. So here is my 1st one –

I have earlier shared (here & here) that I am trying to nurture some potted plants in my balcony. This year this plant (I don’t know the name) bloomed for the first time and the happiness the flowers brought me is inexplicable in words. From the day I first saw the buds I was waiting with bated breath for this day and when it finally came a few days back, I was overjoyed. 🙂
