The past weekend was kind of a let’s-celebrate-womanhood for me. Today, many people understand feminism as feminazi and I would like to make it clear here that I am all for the former only. Let’s make it clearer with their definitions –

Feminism (noun): the advocacy of women’s rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes. (Source)

Feminazi (noun): a term used pejoratively to describe either feminist who are perceived as extreme or radical, women who are perceived as seeking superiority over men, rather than equality(Source)

Under the tireless efforts of Mr Pickloo Deka over the years, flourishes his dream and hobby of collecting rare gems that occupy pages of history. Called the TREASURED WHEELS, it is his endeavour to collect and offer a peek to the glorious yesteryears to all the interested people of today & tomorrow. For the first time, the regional SARAS FAIR is being currently organized in Assam. And last Sunday I decided to pay a visit to the venue at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhetra (Gate No.2). As per information available in the public domain 154 stalls of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) & private farms from 25 different states of the country are taking part in the fair with their ethnic products like food, clothes, ornaments, handicrafts, etc. (more…)

I have mentioned earlier that my mom is in town and have been staying with me and my sister for almost a month now. Needless to say that I am enjoying every bit of her stay with perks like home-cooked food, an organized home and kitchen and the best part is that there is someone always waiting for me when I am back home from office. 🙂 (more…)
