One long weekend –
Two friends- hand in hand,
Set forth for the hills;
The curves in the roads
Adding to the thrill,
Made them giggle, again,
Like them in their carefree days;
Eating, shopping and walking –
Up & down the streets
Clicking selfies all the way….
They stopped over for the night
At one beautiful home, away from home –
The beds were cozy and the room was warm;
The door opened to a green lawn outside,
Overlooking the green mountains in the distant skies….
Next morning they woke up,
To the rays of the warm morning sun,
Escaping the gaps of the curtains,
The feeling was heaven on earth;
Breakfast happened in the lawn,
Under the warm morning sun,
With both of them thinking –
Life cannot get better than this!
Though I and my bestie practically did nothing much in this weekend getaway of ours, I enjoyed it a lot – it was one of the best till date. We roamed around in the streets of Shillong mainly on our feet without a fixed plan; sat, rested & ate wherever we felt like. But both of us definitely discovered something new & different in this short trip of ours and as they truly say – “not all those who wander are lost”! 🙂
Here is a photo diary of our trip – Started our trip with a tummy-ful buffet breakfast at Hotel Centre Point, Police Bazaar, Shillong
