Random on my mind…

I have been MIA for quite some time now. Apart from the occasional meme posts like This Week in Books / WWW Wednesdays & Photo Friday and a few book reviews (I have so many pending 😦 ), I have not been writing much. I guess my mind is caught up with too many things at one time and because of that muddle in my head, nothing specific is coming up…sigh!

Anyways, I thought that, to end this phase, what would be better than a random post; so here it is– (more…)

Living today….

today-is-a-gift“Life is the thing that happens to you while you’re regretting the past and worrying about the future.” ~ Dylan Ozmore

On 9th of this month, I grew older by a year. And with 1 more year in my pocket, I realized that I have matured a lot over the years….even being not aware of it. Age and maturity seems to have silently crept up on me and said, SURPRISE!, here we are ….. :/ Over the past few months I have been thinking a lot of my life. Many things are happening around me and I seem to have no control on the way things are shaping up. I don’t want to crib on the happenings of my life but I want to put down my thoughts and realizations in this phase of my life. (more…)

I am in my late twenties & unmarried. I have a 9 to 5 job to take care of my bills & even lend a helping hand to my parents every now & then. Owing to my financial independence & understanding & supportive parents, I am living a life of my own choices. I travel to far & near places whenever I can gather up the resources; I wear & eat whatever I feel like, etcetera. In short I am living life on my own terms……at least till now.

On this day of love…….

hafiz-love-quote-love-quotesAs I have earlier said in a post of mine –

“We have a little puppy in each one of us – who loves to be hugged, petted, have someone caress us gently as we lie down peacefully. Love is something we all long for and want..…. maybe because we want to feel good about ourselves and happy (more…)

happy new year

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.
So that’s my wish for you and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.
Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it.
Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”

Blog of the Year Award 2 star jpeg

It has been raining awards in my blog. 🙂

Its not that I am complaining…..in fact I am enjoying all the love & appreciation that is being showered on me by my friends of the virtual world/ fellow bloggers. This time it is the Blog of the Year, 2013 Award. First Michelle from Book Chat (my 1st star!) & then Stephanie from S. J. Thomas Book Blurbs (my 2nd star) has been kind enough to nominate me for this award. I was not expecting this one at all. And thanks to both of you for the nice surprise & the honour too! 🙂 (more…)

A ray of hope….

Today it has been a year of that heinous crime. (May her soul rest in peace!) Nothing much has changed over the past year. Every day number of such incidents seem to be increasing. But even in this grim state-of-affairs, the one thing that looks like a ray of hope to me is that every day people – girls/parents, etc., are finding the courage to raise their voice against injustice meted out to them. Voices are being raised irrespective of the status of the alleged in society. And this is most certainly a good sign. It is high time people realize that the criminals & not the survivors should be looked down upon by the society. (more…)
