An achievement…

One of the highlights of 2014 for me will be that I have bought my own car & started driving it all by myself now. Day before yesterday was my first time alone and I drove from home to office to back home……..without hitting anybody/anything. 🙂

I know, this might seem a minor thing to many, but for me it is a huge deal! Over the last few years, I had been making plans to buy a car but somehow the decision of whether I should learn driving first and buy the car next or vice-versa was proving to be a difficult one. And time flew by without me doing any of the two. 😛

Anyways, I am yet to master the skills of a good driver (especially parking in smaller/crowded areas) but I am glad that Ihave started the process. By the way, this is a pictorial description of what I went through on my 1st day driving alone –

1. In the morning, I talked to myself in the mirror that everything would be alright…..

Emma 2. As I sat on the  seat and started the ignition, I was like –

3. Once the car started moving, I was like –

i-want-it-nowMISSION ACCOMPLISHED! :p 🙂

Do anyone remember their 1st driving lesson or their 1st day on the wheels alone? Do share your experiences. 🙂

  1. YAY! I’m so happy for you! I didn’t get my license and car until I was 22! I could legally drink before I could drive. LOL. But, my best friend MADE me drive her big-ass truck in our college town with some small streets. I was terrified. Once she made me drive by myself….at night! I almost had a heart attack. The first time I drove after getting my license didn’t change that either! 🙂 Now I am a very accomplished and season driver and I pay close attention to what’s going on around me on the road – which has saved me quite a few times from some idiot drivers. 🙂 I hope you enjoy your new car and your new driving experiences!

  2. hahaha…i loved your pictorial description. A few days back i gt my learners’. Hopefully I shall be able to share my driving alone experience sometime soon (that is if my husband allows the car to be alone with me!!!) Great going girl! m proud of you 🙂

  3. First of all congratulations on your new car. Though I have no experience of driving a four-wheeler but I can totally relate to you as I am learning to drive a two-wheeler these days 🙂

  4. I enjoyed reading this humorous account of your first day on the road alone. Practice makes perfect. After awhile you will be an expert behind the wheel.

  5. That was a hilarious pictorial representation. Congrats for the Mission Accomplished! 😀
I was just the opposite when I started driving. All the fears and doubts were before. Once I was in the driver’s seat with the steering wheel in my hands and driving, I was confident, happy and in control. 🙂

  6. hellooooooooooooooo how you doing .. no posts for a long time 🙂

wishing you and family a very happy new year
