WWW WEDNESDAY VOL. 19

www_wednesdays43Hello book lovers!

This is my 150th post!!! 😀

I cannot believe we are reaching March end already. Being a banker, I am having a tough time with this month (late hours at office and all, sigh!), but then good times will be here soon with Spring at the doorstep. In my part of the world the temperatures have started to rise up already.   🙂

Anyways, it’s Wednesday and time for another episode of WWW, the weekly book meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. To play along, we just have to answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

And here are my answers this week:

I am currently reading Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. It was sent to me by Bibliobeth. I had read it in my junior classes & had almost forgotten the story. Re-reading the book is so much fun. Wilbur , the pig, is so adorable! I should be able to finish it by tomorrow. Here is the cover & the blurb –

wilbur

“I don’t want to die!

Save me, somebody!

Save me!”
The tale of how a little girl named Fern, with the help of a friendly spider, saved her pig Wilbur from the usual fate of nice fat little pigs.
(From Puffin Books)
An affectionate pig named Wilbur befriends a spider named Charlotte, who lives in the rafters above his pen. In this story of friendship, hardship, and the passing on into time, White reminds readers to open their eyes to the wonder and miracle found in the simplest of things.

I recently finished reading The Flavours of Love by Dorothy Koomson. I had received the book from Bibliobeth as a gift & I loved the book so much. Dorothy Koomson, you have got one more fan in your list now! 😉 I am definitely going to read her other books. I have already got suggestion on the ones I can read from both Cleo & Chrissi. 🙂 My review of the book will be up very soon (I know I am running behind with my reviews, hope to catch up soon)!

Regarding the book I will read next, I think I will go with either The Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger or Life is a Pack of 52 cards by Sumeet Jain (won in Goodreads Giveaway). Let’s see, which one I pick up! 🙂

WWW Wednesday is a great way to discover new books & blogs too. So friends, feel free to leave your links to your WWW Wednesday posts or your comments (if you don’t have a blog), so that I can check out what you’re reading. Till then, happy reading!

  1. I’m glad you enjoyed “The Flavours of Love”. I am yet to read that one but have enjoyed Dorothy Koomson’s previous books.

  2. I’m so glad you loved The Flavours of Love. Dorothy Koomson is amazing. Ooh, can’t wait to hear what you think of The Time Travellers Wife, one of my favourite ever books!

  3. Thank you for my mention. I loved Charlottes Web, need to get on and read The Flavours of Love and I’m probably the only person alive who didn’t enjoy The Time Travellers Wife (it was a DNF) There was another DK book that I’d recommend – The Woman He Loved Before which was another 5 star read for me!

  4. Oh, Charlotte’s Web! I loved that book as a kid and haven’t read it in years. I also remember loving The Trumpet of the Swan, another E.B. White book. I need to go back and read some of my childhood favorites sometime.

    Happy reading!

  5. hehe! didn’t know ur a banker. Hmm! You guys are always up in arms giving and collecting money from clients..kidding. I love Time Traveler’s Wife..Life 52 interest me a lot:)
    Cheerz n Keep reading:)

    1. You know what Vishal, giving is very easy but collecting is a damn tough job….can tell you with my 4 years of experience. 😛
As for the books, I am excited to read both 🙂

      1. I know!! It’s a tough job but, thankfully, met few nice bankers who always understand my financial woes:) And, I thought all of you are banksters..lol!

      2. haha!!
I mean not you but I am sure there are many..lol! Your lot is accused of making the global meltdown worse. Not you again but the big bosses, I mean…hehe

  6. I need to pick up Dorothy Koomson’s book! I love her writing!!

And Charlotte’s Web is such a darling of a book! 🙂

  7. Charlotte’s Web is an absolute treasure made (if possible) even better by listening to the audio version with E.B. White reading his works.
There is something so soporific about his voice – it’s steady and sure and incredibly unusual. Maybe it’s just very old fashioned sounding, but he put both my children to sleep for years. It’s like having your grandfather sitting in a rocking chair reading you a bedtime story.
One of my all time favorites.
Glad it’s come back to your reading stack.
    Cheers!

Would love to hear your thoughts.........
